We are proud to have completed our first charity initiative, this month, after our appeal for unwanted clothes at the start of the year attracted much interest and support.

Over the course of several months, generous readers contributed their unwanted items which resulted in the collection of six bags filled with essential clothes.

Such was the demand, we were unable to collect all clothes from our readers and followers on social media.

These donations, gratefully received by Lichfield District Council, will be stored and distributed next winter when warm clothing is most needed by the homeless individuals and communities in and around Lichfield.

Lichfield District Council’s Housing and Homelessness Manager Ann Mills, said: “We would like to thank Rachel, Belinda and the team at Lichfield Living for spearheading this campaign. Donations like this really do go a long way to show kindness and positivity to those within the district of Lichfield who need a helping hand.”

Rachel Waldron, from Lichfield Living, said: “It was a privilege to launch such a much-needed initiative, which will be a huge benefit to the homeless next winter. This is the first of many charity appeals to come, and we look forward to doing more with our local communities.”
