Access Bookings supports Lichfield Foodbank donating more than 1200 meals

In a world where budgets are squeezed and rising costs affect almost everyone, Lichfield Foodbank stands as a vital resource, offering a helping hand to people in vulnerable situations.

However, as a non-profit organisation reliant on donations, the demand for essential food items often outstrips supply.

Recognising this challenge, Lichfield-based travel management company Access Bookings, renowned for its expertise in corporate travel solutions and commitment to sustainable travel initiatives, stepped forward with a major fundraising effort in December.

The global travel firm raised over £400 through staff contributions via JustGiving, an amount matched by the company to double its impact.

Recently, team members from Access Bookings used half of the combined funds to purchase essential food and personal care items, preparing them for families across the region. These items, handed over to the Lichfield Foodbank, were confirmed to equate to an incredible 646 meals. The remaining funds, donated in December, provided an additional 646 meals, ensuring struggling families had support over Christmas.

Dena Hill, warehouse manager at Lichfield Foodbank, said: “We can’t thank everyone at Access Bookings enough. Our stock levels really drop in January as everyone struggles that little bit more with post-Christmas bills, and this is an absolute lifeline to so many of our families and individuals. This support from local businesses is really appreciated.”

Lillybea Taylor, from Access Bookings, added: “We’d like to thank our team for being so generous with their monetary donations. Every pound given has gone on to help those in need, and we’re proud to be part of such a meaningful initiative in our local community.”
